Dancing in the rain.............
Every summer there is this huge festival that's held just about an hour from Ottawa in Long Sault, that bring together all Khmers mainly living in Ontario, Quebec, and North Eastern United States. However, each year it seems to get bigger and bigger and literally 1000s of Khmers flock to this one event. Essentially, all it is, is a picnic, bbq, performances, dance, etc. to celebrate our culture. Now since I missed last years festival because I was in South Africa, I figured I might as well attend it this year, besides my mother had made it clear that she had her intentions of making it a family event. Unfortunately, for some odd reason this year it fell mid month, unlike the 6 prior years? So I found myself the only child in our family attending as my brother was off camping, and my sisters were in New York, and working.
Now don't worry low attendance wasn't a problem, because I'd warned everyone about the strong possibility of rain (actually thunder showers). Regardless, we all went any ways. About 15 minutes after our arrival and unloading our things, low and behold we begin to hear thunder. It's a bit cloudy........however, looks like the rain is going to hold back. The next thing we know it begins to pour like no tomorrow, with absolutely no shelter what so ever. One of my dad's friends pulls out a plastic tarp he had brought, so about 19 of us cuddle under this small tarp. So are we safehere.....nope.......the tarp begins to leak, and we are all soaked to the bone. This last for about 40 minutes, luckily I had brought a change of clothes. It didn't just rain once, but twice that day. However, the second rain fall that evening we had already made a better shelter to shield off the rain. Minus being soaked to the bone, it was actually quite fun, we all managed to laugh and smile given the situation. The last time I remember playing in the rain was when I was 5 while living in Thailand.

Class of 2006
I've always enjoyed school (I'm wack I know), but I just do, and to think that my university days are over...makes me kind of sad: ( Well at least for the time being, I do plan to do my Master's, but I think I will try the working world for a year or two, before I dip my toes into the lifestyle of a student once again.

To believe or not to believe?
Saturady night 21 of us (family and friends) went out to dinner to celebrate my sister and Sovie's joint bo-day party, turns out at the end of the night as we are about to leave the place, my dad discover's that there's something wrong with our van ( I knew we should have taken our other car), turns out we had to get the thing towed in the end.
